Steampunk twin-stick shooter for PC
REMEDIUM is a premium action game for PC developed by Sobaka Studio. It's an isometric twin-stick shooter that features steampunk themes of sorts. Set in a world where a mysterious plague has turned humans into mutants, players take on the role of the remaining survivors trying to find a cure.
Much like The Ascent, REMEDIUM boasts slick, over-the-top action that has players take on hordes of enemies across multiple distinct locations. It also offers a wide variety of weapons that are fully customizable to help them deal with all sorts of tough situations and boss fights.
Race against time
REMEDIUM takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland during the Renaissance era. It's set a hundred years after a plague ravaged the world and turned the majority of the population into enraged mutants. You are one of the few remaining survivors who unfortunately got infected while foraging for resources. Now, you must venture outside the city walls again to find a cure before the dreaded disease takes over.
Time is not on your side in this shooter game, with symptoms from your disease multiplying and evolving. They also grant you special abilities that you can further augment and amplify with potions and other alchemic concoctions to help you fight enemies. You also have access to an arsenal of rifles, revolvers, and other guns to blast spawns and bosses.
Speaking of enemies, the game serves up a wide variety of mutants for you to face, ranging from chimeras to gargoyles, and other monstrosities. Do note that it's still in Early Access, which can also be attributed to the thin content that players are currently noticing and experiencing. Hopefully, its development does not get hampered and will continue as intended for updates to come.
Intriguing and has potential
In conclusion, REMEDIUM is an intriguing twin-stick shooter given its premise and setting. The visuals look nice and the gameplay is slick, combining elements of alchemy and good 'ol guns for varied combat. It's a bit too soon to tell how well it fares given its development status, but things are looking good so far. Give it a try and see for yourself.
